I own a copy of "Dumbo, the Flying Elephant" by Helen Aberson and Harold Pearl. It is the paperback edition printed in 1941 after Disney aquired the rights to the story - an earlier edition was printed as a novelty scroll-in-a-box item by the Roll-A-Book Company of Syracuse, New York; but based on what little information exists about this piece of Disneyana on the internet, no known copies of the true first edition are known to exist. The book is a 8 1/2 by 11" paperback, printed by the Whitman Publishing Company in 1941. There is no mention of Disney anywhere on the book's cover; though, since this edition was published after Disney had aquired the rights from Helen Aberson, the company's name appears on the copyright byline underneath the older Roll-a-Book copyright.
I cannot find any information on this book's price searching either book guides or Disneyana sites - does anyone know how valuable (or worthless) this might be? Can any of you supply any more information? There is not a lot about the book on the internet; and the little information I did manage to glean (mostly from obits about the author) is sometimes contridicted by other articles. I'm starting to tear my hair out over this!
