IM FROM LONDON ENGLAND DOING SOME RESEARCH ON MR DISNEY ?????

Hi fellow Disney enthusiasts !
Can anyone help me, I am trying to find out if Walt Disney attended a World War II charity event at The Savoy Hotel London in June 1940 ?
I think it was staged by the Variety Club of Great Britain as a wartime effort, perhaps to help with the evacuation of London children during the anticipation of The Blitz.
I would be grateful  for any information of proof that he was infact in London at this event.
