Disney pin collectors need to know that the level of counterfeiting has increased dramatically in the last 4 or 5 years. As a pin seller, not a week goes by that I don't get at least one SPAM message offering to sell me large quantities of Disney pins at truly unbelievable prices. Counterfeit Disney collectibles have always been with us, but its traditionally been little more than background noise. But things have gotten so bad that the Feds have started to crack down on these people. There was a major sting on pin counterfeiters recently in the Los Angeles area, with word that the investigation was continuing.
So, watch out for deals that are too good to be true, especially when it comes to bulk sales. Don't count on a high eBay Feedback rating alone. Do a bit more research when you can. And carefully examine any Disney collectible you buy for signs of counterfeiting. Counterfeits hurt us all.
