Black Cauldron 1985 Bronze statues
« on: February 07, 2011, 04:40:04 AM »
I have a Horned King statue that appears to be bronze about 2.5 feet tall on a wood base, plus two Creeper statues about 8 inches tall. They have a wood base with the respective character name engraved on a gold plate with the black cauldron on it as well as the year 1985. On the bottom of the actual bronze is walt disney productions carved by hand in the piece. Otherwise there are no distinguishing marks or serials numbers. Any additional information on these would be nice. They among many other pieces are apart of an estate I am trying to liquidate.

Here's a link to images of them, kinda dusty but in great shape.

Anyway any info would be GREATLY appreciated.

I don't know these figures, especially the Horned King.  I know there is a company that specializes in making such figures, and I'm sorry, but I've forgotten their name.  If you searched for tall figures from Star Wars and other popular movies, you might eventually get a line on these.  It'll be a long slog, I suspect.  In the end, I'm not sure it matters that much.  They're top quality pieces, but they have a very limited market.  Sadly, "The Black Cauldron" was made during some dark times at Disney.  It was a flop at the box office, never did well on home video, and has very few fans.  Since you're "liquidating", I would suggest that you take any reasonable offer.  Good luck!

I've heard they were very limited pieces only about 15 of the Horned King. I know the Black Cauldron wasn't taken well as it was a R rating in theatres etc. I appreciate the info given, I just was curious if there was more. Thanks anyway!
