Child's TV Tray / chair
« on: August 04, 2010, 03:14:32 AM »
Can anyone tell me anything about this...
It's a child's chair. The back flips up to make a table-like tray. The tray is metal and reads "Disney TV Tray". On the bottm of the chair it says it was made by Nortex Products Toronto. I think it's from about 1960.
Were these common? Are they valuable? I would like to sell it.

The chair could date back to the 1950's when The Mickey Mouse Club was so popular on TV and Swanson's TV Dinners were all the rage.  Tough to be certain just by looking at it.  There is certainly some value here.  I'd estimate it to be worth about $30-40.00.  Maybe closer to $50.00 if the graphics are in really good condition with no rust marks.  The problem is finding a buyer.  Shipping this chair would be difficult, so you'd almost be forced to sell it locally to come out with a reasonable amount of cash at the end of the transaction.  The best choice may be to take it to some local antique and curio shops and see what they'll offer you for it.  Good luck!
