Picture Autographed by Roy Williams
« on: July 29, 2010, 03:56:31 AM »
I have a publicity photo of Kevin Corcoran that's been autographed by Roy Williams, one of the original Mouseketeers.  The photo publicizes the movie "Toby Tyler"--which was just coming out when Roy Williams, himself, gave me the autographed photo.

I was about 9 years old at the time, walking down Main Street, USA, in Disneyland when Roy and Goofy walked up to me.  Roy asked me my name, which I told him.  He wrote "Terry" on the back of Kevin's picture.  Then he drew a caricature of Donald Duck and signed it "Roy."

This collectible is in mint condition since it has been tucked in the pages of a scrapbook since 1960 and has only seen the light of day a couple of times.

Does anyone have an idea how much my memento might be worth?

I too have one of those Donald Duck drawings that was signed by Roy. I didn't know until now that it was Roy Williams. I sent a copy to the Walt Disney Family Museum to find out more info on it. Have not heard back from them.

Roy Williams was a Disney artist who is best known as being one of the two adult Mouseketeers on the Mickey Mouse Club television shows.  The other was, of course, Jimmie Dodd, who emceed the show.  Roy's autograph generally sells for about $10-20.00.  Good luck!

Thanks rtrethewey.  I didn't think it would be worth much. It certainly has much more sentimental value than that.

Thank you, everyone for the input.  The autograph to Rocky looks almost exactly like the one Roy did for me.

I received an email from a collector who said the most he usually gets for these type drawings is $50.
