Vintage Randotti skull value?
« on: July 20, 2010, 04:02:35 PM »
I have been trying to research the value of these and have come up empty handed after several hours. This skull is an authentic Randotti from 1974, No. 847. It is in very good condition with only a small chip on the nose and a slightly larger one on the base. I am trying to figure out where and how I could get this appraised? Searches for the heir of Randotti led me to dead ends... If someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!  :D

I wasn't familiar with these skulls until I did some research on the web.  Apparently, Randotti-style skulls and headstones were sold in Disneyland as souvenirs for the Haunted Mansion in the late 1960s and early 1970s.  Haunted Mansion items are very popular, but I don't know the current value of your skull.  I would expect that yours would tend to sell a bit below the average price (whatever that is) because of the condition.  In situations like this, I usually recommend that you create a "Saved Search" on eBay so that you get notified by Email when someone offers a similar item for sale.  I'd just use "Haunted Mansion skull" because the name Randotti may not appear in all of the auctions that might be helpful.  Good luck!
