I Have A Disney VHS Mess-Up
« on: June 16, 2010, 07:11:08 AM »
Hi everybody! I am new to this place, but really need your help.
I have the Disney movie Aladdin in VHS form. It is supposed to be in color, but the entire movie is in black and white! This movie was purchased around the time when it first came out, and Disney was notified about this. They had said it was a mistake, and to send it back to them, and they would gladly send out another. Well, obviously the movie was never sent to Disney. Anyway, what is the worth of this? I couldn't find anything online. Thanks!!

There are always some collectors who would want something like this, but there are very few of them.  It lacks general appeal in that production errors aren't all that rare, VHS has virtually disappeared, and Aladdin's overall popularity has dropped like a rock in the past 10 years.  You can always put it up on eBay and see if it attracts any bids, but I don't think that's the best venue for an item that has such limited appeal that it would get drowned out by all of the other stuff there.  I think it would be best to try posting on various Disney collectibles websites and see if you get any offers.  Personally, I'd take anything over $5.00 + shipping costs, but it's up to you.  Good luck!
