It's a very nice brooch. To my untrained eye, the simple style and elaborate package suggests that its of fairly recent vintage. It's likely to have been released on one of the ten-year anniversaries of Snow White - 1987, 1997, or 2007, for example. The theme parks were the most common source of signature jewelry like your Van Dell. Although I've been dealing with Disney collectibles for many years, my limited experience with such pieces is that they don't tend to either appreciate or depreciate in value, so it's probably worth about the price originally paid.
