Whenever you're selling collectibles, you face a trade-off between time and money. If you want to sell it fast, you have to be willing to take less. Your best option for a quick sale is selling directly to a dealer in your area so you avoid shipping. Look for antique and collectibles shows in your local newspaper or online. You probably won't be allowed to bring your items into the show with you, so be prepared. Compile a list of what you have, and bring it to the show in your car. The more details, the better. Then you can show the list to dealers at the show to see if they're interested. You can make the sale outside at your car.
You can also Email your list to dealers you find online. Any of them who are interested are going to want to see pictures of the most valuable pieces. Do your best to take clear photos with no glare or reflections. Use a graphics program to resize the images from your digital camera to reasonable sizes - 500 to 800 pixels wide on art, less for watches etc.
When selling to a dealer, keep in mind that he needs to make a substantial profit. Dealers have real business expenses (overhead and taxes) to take care of before they get anything for themselves, and a quick sale is saving you a lot of time and trouble. You'll probably get about 40-60% of what he expects the items to sell for, depending on how long he expects it to take to sell it all and the amount of work required.
