This was an e-mail I got from Tom Tesch that I wanted to answer publicly in case anyone could contribute or had similar questions:

I am not sure of what I have here! There are four cups and two sets of four plates one set is slightly larger with the picture creamer and sugar bowl both with lids. It is still in the original box. However, the packing material has been changed. Family oral history says this set was purchased in the fall of 1929. On the bottom of the pitcher it is stamped with the following: ”Mickey Mouse COPR by Walt E Disney Made in Japan”. Any ideas of what I have here or where I can find out more information. I have been unable to find anything like this in over a month of searching!

Hi Tom,

The set you have appears to be part of a 21-piece set that was made in Japan in the 1930s.  There was originally a teapot/lid, creamer, six cups, six saucers, a sugar bowl/lid, and six plates.  The pieces feature six different images of Mickey and Minnie.  According to the Price Guide to Disney Collectibles, you're looking at between $200 to $600 for the complete set.  Since you only have a subset of pieces and are missing the original, but rather box, you'll have to adjust your valuation accordingly.

And thanks for including a photo, Tom!  That makes it much easier to help people out - I get tons of e-mails with only vague two sentence descriptions which are impossible to figure-out.  A photo is definitely worth a thousand words!
