An often overlooked niche of Disneyana collecting is Disney Movie Posters. Vintage posters from 1950 or before can command prices in the tens of thousands of dollars. This may be a bit too expensive for the average collector, but contemporary posters offer more accessibility with prices in the hundreds of dollars. There are so many memorable Disney movies to choose from, which makes this niche of Disneyana both exciting and bountiful.
The vintage Disney Movie Poster period (1924-1950) offers some great artifacts from the founding period of Disney. Here some of the most notable posters.
-1924 “Alice Gets In Dutch” – The first documented Disney movie poster - $1
5,000
-1932 Mickey Mouse “Mickey’s Nightmare” - $70,000
-1932 Mickey Mouse “The Mad Doctor” – Highly coveted - $125,000
-1937 Mickey Mouse “Magician Mickey” – Silkscreen - $80,000
There are a number of great bargains in the contemporary period for those who are looking for a unique piece of Disney memorabilia. Here are some relatively inexpensive gems I found.
-1953 “Peter Pan” $500 to $1,000
-1955 “Lady and the Tramp” $500 to $1000
-1967 “The Jungle Book” $300 to $500
-1992 “Aladdin” $50 to $100
-1994 “The Lion King” $50 to $150

Disney is very popular to people of all ages since they began. They are popular mostly to the children because of the different characters, cartoons, and movies they made. And bacause of their popularity, the pictures and posters they create became very expensive in the market, especially if they are very old or vintage and one of a kind.
