Very old Donald Duck doll
This poor old Donald Duck has seen better days, but it's pretty clear that he's many, many years old. His history is not completely known, but there's a bit "grapevine" story to go with him.

Here's an interesting reader submission. Alex writes in wondering about the history of this obviously very classic Donald Duck doll. The story, as he has heard, is:

My father recently came accross a vintage Donald Duck doll given to him by his deceased fiance' it is in poor condition but I can not seem to find exact information on it. I have found simular dolls by the same Mfg. but in different character outfits (Sailor and Band Leader). ... The doll is aprox 19" tall and the tag reads "Authentic Disney Character Exclusive With R.G. Krueger New York".

The story behind the doll is that my fathers fiance' was hit by a car driven by a Walt Disney family member when she was a little girl, Walt Disney paid all the medical expenses and sent her this doll stating that it was a prototype.

Do you have any ideas about what the history on style of Donald doll is? I'm not really sure what his outfit is supposed to be - I would have said "band leader" first, but Alex mentions that this is not that same costume.
