Mickey Mouse tea set made in Japan
September 26th, 2007 · 1 Comment

A reader e-mailed me with a question regarding this set of Mickey and Minney chinaware which was made in Japan.
His original question:
I am not sure of what I have here! There are four cups and two sets of four plates one set is slightly larger with the picture creamer and sugar bowl both with lids. It is still in the original box. However, the packing material has been changed. Family oral history says this set was purchased in the fall of 1929. On the bottom of the pitcher it is stamped with the following: ”Mickey Mouse COPR by Walt E Disney Made in Japan”. Any ideas of what I have here or where I can find out more information. I have been unable to find anything like this in over a month of searching!
Thank you
Tom Tesch
I answered the question in the DisneyMemorabilia forums, but it appears that Tom's pieces are from a 21-piece toy teaset which was made in Japan during the 1930s. I have 6 bone china figures of children of the world - they look like Christmas ornaments they are from Japan - do you know anything about them?
